Our Mission
To bring an end to the blood shortage. Just 3% of the eligible population in the United States donates blood. But blood is needed every day.
-
Data shows that there was about a 50% drop in donors between 19-25 after the pandemic. As older donors become unable to donate (for natural reasons), they aren’t being replaced by younger donors at the same rate. The pandemic certainly made things worse: as high school and college blood drives were canceled, fewer donors under the age of 25 were introduced to donating blood.
-
29,000 units of blood are needed every day across the nation. Yup! That’s a lot! Especially when every 2 seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.
-
Blood is irreplaceable and essential. And until it can be made in a lab, it has to be donated. We’re all part of the solution and now Donable® is here to help!

-
We totally understand! We’re an app that pays you for saving lives and that may sound too good to be true! We have partnered with Our Blood Institute to recruit more blood donors (because there aren't enough). Donable pays you, the agent, to get people to donate blood with OBI through the app. We use Stripe to pay our agents, which is a platform that many other businesses use too!
-
Your earning potential is limitless! First time donors will earn you more as they are hard to get! Payment per blood donation ranges from $15 to $60. Recruit as many donors as you can! There is a bonus for RH negative donors and type O donors. For example: if you recruited 10 first time O negative donors that’s $600 and many lives saved!
-
Payments are made through Stripe, which is a safe and secure financial service used by many gig economy businesses. You can learn more about Stripe here. You set up your Stripe account through the Donable® app and your money earned is tracked. The app will also tell you when to expect payouts.
-
We’re so sorry to hear you’re having issues with the app. Our tech support team is here to help! Please send us an email with details of the issue, including screenshots, to support@donable.com.
-
Nope! Recruit donors when it works for you. Once you recruit a donor, they stay active in your app for 6 months. Every time they donate, you get paid!
-
Your payment will process the second Friday after the successful donation. In your app, you can see whether your donations were successful by tapping the ‘bell’ icon in the top corner.
-
No, FDA regulations prohibit payment of donors. You cannot add yourself as a donor and get paid for it through the app. That payment will be blocked. You can be paid as an agent because your are recruiting donors. Recruit others and get paid that way!
-
No problem! You don’t need to in order to recruit them. The donor’s blood is tested and typed by the local blood center. The donor can check their blood type via their donor portal after their donation. The app will reward you after the donor’s blood type has been tested and processed, so you’ll get your bonuses if they apply.
-
The Donable® app will cross reference with the local blood center’s database and you will only be able to schedule eligible donors in the app. Most donors are eligible every 56 days. There’s also a live chat feature in the app for blood donation questions. Helpful tutorials and a link to your blood center’s website are available in the app too.
-
The Donable® App allows you to search a zipcode radius that the blood donor prefers and will show you community blood drives or blood donor centers where you can make the blood donor’s appointment.
-
Right now, Donable® is only available in select cities in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas. We are working to expand to more blood centers across the country.
-
Yes! Not only is there a tutorial on the app about donor questions, there is also an AI Chatbot feature! Go to the Settings page and find the ‘start a chat’ icon in the bottom right corner. Ask the Chatbot any questions about donor eligibility to get an instant answer!
-
Donable® Agents can recruit blood donors who are 18 years and older (donors under 18 may need parental consent so the app will not allow donors under 18 to be scheduled). Generally donors over 18, more than 110 pounds and in general good health can donate. Most medications are okay to take to be a blood donor. The local blood center’s website will have more info.
